On March 20, 2026, the China (Shenzhen & Hong Kong) – South Africa (Johannesburg) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference was successfully held in Johannesburg.

The conference focused on the cooperation potential between Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Gauteng Province in areas such as economy and trade, technology, and the digital economy.

As crucial windows and engines for China’s opening-up, Shenzhen and Hong Kong play an even more active role in deepening local exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between China and South Africa. It is hoped that the conference will serve as an opportunity to further establish cooperation platforms and add new impetus to the development of China-South Africa relations.
